Baidu finishes building the world’s largest test ground for autonomous vehicles

Chinese technology giant Baidu has finished building the world’s largest test ground for autonomous vehicles in Beijing. The facility will host physical test-driving as well as information technology related infrastructure, allowing for data to be collected through the entire development process, from research to testing.

The facility will also be used to test applications that support vehicle-to-infrastructure communication. Such technologies can remotely connect vehicles with a variety of road traffic elements such as traffic lights, cameras and speed limit signs.
