Australian team develops an AI tool to assist in COVID-19 diagnosis
An artificial intelligence (AI) powered tool has been developed by the University of Sydney affiliated startup Detect ED-X. The tool will be used to detect coronavirus from lung scans. The tool was initially developed to scan breast cancer, but was modified amid the pandemic. The tool has already scanned lung CT scans from patients in China and Italy. The technology is being supplied free of charge to any medical facility in the world that wishes to use it.
