Australia to introduce COVID-19 contact tracing app

According to a report, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison is calling on Australians to download the contact tracing app TraceTogether. Morrison stated that downloading the app would initially be voluntary, yet declined to rule out making it compulsory. The government plans to introduce the app within the next two weeks after mitigating concerns about privacy. TraceTogether has been utilised in Singapore since March 20, but has not been successful due to the lack of participation from citizens.
