Audio and video streaming reaches 71 % of Internet traffic in NA fixed access networks

Real time entertainment (streaming of audio-visual content) now reaches almost 71 % of evening Internet traffic in North American fixed access networks. The Sandvine Global Internet Phenomena Report expects this figure will reach 80 % by 2020. Streaming services of Youtube, Netflix and Amazon video combined represent over 53 % of data traffic. On North American mobile networks the data traffic from social media, web browsing and video is still broadly balanced.
