Amazon’s Alexa offers help in fighting Coronavirus

Based on guidance provided by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa is helping people check their risk levels for COVID-19 (Coronavirus) at home. People can ask questions like ‘Alexa, what do I do if I think I have COVID-19?’ or ‘Alexa, what do I do if I think I have coronavirus?’, and Alexa will ask a series of questions about their travel history, symptoms, and possible exposure. Based on their responses, Alexa will provide them with CDC recommendations. In Japan, based on people’s answers to the above mentioned questions, Alexa will provide guidance from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare. In other countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, India, the UK, and the US,  people can now ask Alexa to sing a song for 20 seconds to assist them in keeping time while washing their hands.
