Amazon loses trademark battle over AWS in China
The Beijing Municipal High People’s Court ruled that the AWS trademark belongs to ActionSoft Science & Technology Development Co., a Chinese software and data services company.
The AWS logo and term used by Amazon for its cloud services may no longer be used by Amazon in China. In addition, Amazon was ordered to pay ActionSoft compensation equivalent to US$11.8 million.
