Alexa sued for recording and storing children’s use without consent

 

A lawsuit has been filed in the  federal court of Seattle alleging Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa, records children who use it, without consent, while saving the data recorded permanently. The complaint seeks a class action lawsuit for violating Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Washington privacy laws.

The complaint filed on behalf of a 10 year old girl from Massachusetts states ‘Alexa routinely records and voice prints millions of children without their consent or the consent of their parents,’.
