59 pirate websites to be blocked in Australia
59 websites are to be blocked in Australia for illegally sharing movies and TV shows, after the Federal Court ruled in favour of the film and TV industry in two separate cases. According to the judgment, some of the websites showed ‘a blatant disregard for the rights of copyright owners’, and even provided tutorials to ‘frustrate any legal actions’. The chairman of Creative Content Australia warned that his organisation plans to ‘sue any individual that continues to download pirated content’.
