This model law is an outcome of the Expert Group convened to develop model legislation on electronic evidence which addresses the needs of small Commonwealth jurisdictions. It aims to provide a framework for the admissibility and treatment of electronic records in legal proceedings. It contains provisions on general admissibility, authentication, and presumption of integrity of electronic records; application of best evidence rule, standards, proof by affidavit, cross examination, agreement on admissibility of electronic records, and admissibility of electronic signature.
