ITU launches a new tool to support gender equality in the technology sector

In line with the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Gender Mainstreaming special track of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) kicked off the WSIS Stocktaking Repository of Women in Technology. Such initiative aims at identifying and connecting women leaders and practitioners in all sectors of the ICT industry and engaging them in events, forums, and activities. It further provides a platform to share collective insights, ideas, and knowledge in this regard. Additionally, it can contribute to the 2022 WSIS process and promote efforts in addressing the gender gap in ICTs, in line with sustainable development goal (SDG) 5 on achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.
