US FCC launches COVID-19 telehealth programme application

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will launch the COVID-19 Telehealth Program application portal on 13 April 2020. As part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the US Congress appropriated USD$200 million in funding for the telehealth programme to allow healthcare providers to remotely provide connected care services to patients. The programme provides support to eligible healthcare providers responding to the COVID-19 crisis by fully funding their telecommunications services, information services, and devices that are necessary to provide services.
