The company ranks just behind major crypto firms like MARA and Riot in Bitcoin ownership.

Metaplanet’s bitcoin holdings have grown to 12,345 BTC, making it the fifth largest corporate holder worldwide.

Tokyo-listed hotel company Metaplanet has boosted its Bitcoin holdings, becoming the fifth largest corporate holder of the cryptocurrency. The firm recently purchased 1,234 BTC for $133 million at an average price of roughly $107,877 per coin.

The latest acquisition raised its total Bitcoin stash to 12,345 BTC.

Metaplanet’s growing Bitcoin reserve now surpasses Tesla’s holdings of 11,509 BTC. The company follows a trend set by Michael Saylor’s Strategy, which leads to corporate Bitcoin ownership of over 570,000 BTC.

Despite its comparatively more diminutive size, Metaplanet’s continued investment highlights increasing corporate interest in Bitcoin as a reserve asset. It ranks just behind major crypto-focused firms like MARA, Riot, and Galaxy Digital.
