Uber suspends operations in Morocco

Uber decided to suspend its activity in Morocco, due to regulatory uncertainty. In a blog post explaining the decision, the company said that the ‘lack of clarity about integrating applications like Uber into the existing transport model’ does not allow it to fully meet the requirements of drivers and passengers. Uber also called for a reform of the regulatory environment, and for new rules that would encourage innovation and competition, stating that it would resume operations in Morocco once such rules are in place.
