The state of Victoria plans to use IIoT to monitor infrastructure
Victoria partners with Xerox to use industrial internet of things (IIoT) technology to monitor the structural health of bridges remotely. The technology will be based on fiber optic sensors attached to the bridge to measure and estimate structural strain, thermal response, bending, loads, vibration, and corrosion, all measures of structural health. The technology would also monitor whether a bridge is being over or underutilized or has structural problems or damage that needs repair.
