GDS extends contracts with Verify providers

The UK’s Government Digital Service has awarded contract extensions for the  two remaining commercial partners of the Verify identity-assurance platform. Digidentity and Post Office will continue to offer new user sign-ups until 2022, with the contract extensions which are  more than £5m. During the additional period, the commercial partners will also transfer copies of user data and trust to the authority. This will involve teh agency notifying users of the transfer , requesting their consent to transfer and explaining the consequences of not transferring before the April 2022 cut-off date.
