AAPD Digital literacy training for persons with disabilities

Comcast will increase its access and training programmes for persons with disabilities with an expansion of its Internet Essentials initiative. The largest grant was awarded to the American Association for People with Disabilities (AAPD) to develop digital literacy training programs specifically designed for the needs of low-income people in the disability community. People with disabilities are the least represented online in the USA; this expansion of the Internet Essentials project is actively seeking to change that. Internet Essentials was launched in response to US FCC requirements as part of Comcast’s purchase of a majority stake in NBC Universal.
