1 Mar 2017
Principles and Recommendations
The Report explores the gender gap in access to the Internet given that Internet penetration rates are higher for men than women in all regions of the world today. The first part of the Report tackles current data on the digital gender gap, and explores the reasons why digital access is important for women’s empowerment. Part two of the Report provides recommendations for measures to address the gender gap in Internet access. The recommendations focus on four action areas and include data, strategies, policies, plans and budgets, measures to address barriers faced by women and measures to enhance cooperation between stakeholders.
