Türkiye’s National Technology Entrepreneurship Strategy outlines a comprehensive strategy for enhancing Türkiye’s national technological entrepreneurship to achieve economic and technological independence. This ambitious plan is aimed at transforming the country into a leading global center for advanced technologies and strategic industrial products.

The strategy envisions Türkiye as a powerhouse in the global market by developing critical products and technologies using local and national resources, thereby increasing the country’s competitiveness in high-tech fields. Entrepreneurship is recognised as a critical component of the 2023 Industry and Technology Strategy, emphasising the role of Turkish enterprises in leading innovation and transformation globally. The plan encourages the support of high-tech startups across various sectors, such as trade, education, health, and transport, to play a leading role in creating economic and social value.

The strategy also aims to create 10 Turkish companies each valued at $1 billion by 2023, known as ‘turcorns,’ and notes significant progress toward this goal.

The National Technology Entrepreneurship Strategy serves as a roadmap for transitioning to a new phase of entrepreneurship in Türkiye, aiming to increase entrepreneurship capabilities in various fields and disciplines. It involves the participation of academics, young innovators, investors, international organisations, and various other stakeholders to achieve its goals, emphasising the importance of a collaborative approach to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The strategy outlines 30 specific strategies under five main ecosystem components, emphasising equal opportunity, sustainable living, investing in the future of the youth, and focusing on areas of development that are critical for the country’s growth. It aims to place Türkiye as a leader in the global technology entrepreneurship ecosystem by closely monitoring international players and developing policies that leverage Türkiye’s unique strengths.
