The Innovation Strategy of the Czech Republic for 2019-2030, is a strategic plan aimed at transforming the Czech Republic into a leader in innovation in Europe by 2030. The strategy sets the goal for science, research and innovation to become an absolute priority in the country, focusing on knowledge-based production, technology solutions and services.

Strategic pillars
- The country for R&D: This pillar focuses on increasing funding for R&D and improving the evaluation mechanisms to emphasise quality and impact, moving from a quantitative to a qualitative assessment model.
- The country for technology: Emphasising polytechnic education and aiming to strengthen the link between educational institutions and the technological industry.
- The country for start-ups: Enhancing the ecosystem for start-ups and spin-offs through better support structures and funding mechanisms.
- The country for digitalisation: Digitalising public services and ensuring that all citizens and businesses can benefit from digital innovations.
- The country for excellence: Establishing innovation and research centres that align with global standards and foster cooperation between academia and industry.
- The country for investment: Attracting smart investments that contribute to the high-tech economy and support sustainable development.
- The country for patents: Strengthening intellectual property rights to encourage innovation and protect creators.
- The country for smart infrastructure: Developing infrastructure that supports innovative transportation solutions and smart city initiatives.

Implementation
The Strategy is coordinated by Council for Research, Development and Innovation, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with representatives of the Czech Academy of Sciences, leading universities and research organisations, as well as international and national ICT and technology companies. . It includes legislative support, targeted investment, and the creation of incentives for businesses and researchers. The direct oversight by the Prime Minister’s office is intended to ensure high-level coordination and effective progress monitoring.
Expected outcomes
By 2030, the Czech Republic aims to be recognised as a global leader in innovation, with strong capabilities in high-tech industries, a thriving start-up environment, and a robust digital economy. The strategy is designed to enhance economic growth, create high-quality jobs, and improve the overall quality of life for its citizens through sustainable and inclusive innovation.
