At the end of the 28th EU-Japan Summit, Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission), Charles Michel (President of the European Council) and Fumio Kishida (Prime Minister of Japan) announced the first Digital Partnership signed by the EU and another country. The Partnership would provide a forum that establishes political impetus for collaborative work on digital technologies in areas such as secure 5G, “Beyond 5G”/6G technologies, safe and ethical applications of artificial intelligence, or the resilience of global supply chains in the semiconductor industry.
