Two months later after the terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand on 15 March 2019, governments and tech companies came together to adopt the Christchurch Call. The Call commits governments to counter the drivers of terrorism and violent extremism, ensure effective enforcement of applicable laws, encourage media outlets to apply ethical standards, support frameworks such as industry standards, and consider appropriate actions to prevent the use of online services to disseminate terrorist and violent extremist content.
