Standard ECMA-345 Private integrated services network (PISN) – use of QSIG for message centre access (MCA) profile standard

Standards

Summary

This Profile Standard outlines how QSIG/PSS1 can be used for Message Centre Access (MCA) procedures within a Private Integrated Services Network (PISN). It specifies the necessary base standards, options, and parameter values to enable various functions related to message management for users. The standard supports the following MCA functionalities:

  1. Message Deposit: Allows an Originator to deposit messages in a Served User’s Mailbox directly, after call diversion, or after call transfer.
  2. Message Centre Monitoring: Notifies a Served User about new messages or changes in the mailbox.
  3. Message Browsing: Enables a Served User to access and manage messages within their mailbox.
  4. Message Retrieval: Allows a Served User to retrieve stored messages.
  5. Message Centre Transfer: Connects a Served User to the Originator of a message or another destination.

The Standard defines four MCA profiles, each detailing a specific combination of supplementary services like Call Diversion, Call Transfer, Simple Dialog, Message Waiting Indication, and Message Centre Monitoring, tailored to meet the requirements of different scenarios.
