RWANDA’S ICT HUB STRATEGY

Strategies and Action Plans

Rwanda aims to establish itself as the leading ICT Hub in Africa, focusing on creating a culture of innovation, backed by substantial investment in research and development. The country envisions a highly educated and skilled workforce, with ICTs playing a significant role in its economy. The strategic plan, covering 2019-2024, aligns with the National Strategy for Transformation goals and other ICT-related policies. Currently excelling in three out of six prerequisites for an ICT Hub, Rwanda aims to address gaps in creating a skilled workforce, fostering innovation, and building advanced technological capabilities. Becoming an ICT Hub is seen as vital for economic growth, offering opportunities for job creation, boosting national productivity, and attracting global partnerships to address socio-economic challenges. The strategic plan outlines a systematic approach to innovation, emphasizing long-term opportunities and aligning with various national policies for a comprehensive ICT development framework.
