The report finds that the Internet is growing less free around the world, and democracy itself is withering under its influence. Among other things, it specifies that the distribution of online disinformation and propaganda have poisoned the public sphere. In addition, violations against personal data have also brought into question the notion of privacy. In order to tackle the previously mentioned challenges, the report proposes a set of recommendation to policymakers, civil society, and the private sector.
