Information and communications technologies for development (A/RES/69/204)
December 2014
Resolutions and Declarations
The resolution builds on previous resolutions of ICT for development, and highlights both the progress, innovation and successes of ICT, while taking into account the adversities faced. It reaffirms the potential of ICT for the achievement of development goals, but further expresses concern over the negative impacts, and fragile and uneven recoveries from world financial and economic crisis. In this context the potential of ICT for socioeconomic activities is again emphasized, in addition to focus on topics such as the digital divide, gender gaps, potential of youths, and stronger involvement of multiple actors.
