Science, technology, and innovation for development (A/RES/68/220)

Resolutions and Declarations

The resolution recognizes the importance of science, technology and innovation for sustainable development, and efforts to address global challenges such as poverty, food security, energy efficiency and environmental protection. A concern with the ICT divides between developing and developed countries leads to a call for stronger international support, better cooperation, and enhancement of relevant entities of the UN system. These efforts are acknowledged as fundamental needs for the use of effective science, technology and innovation for sustainable development.
