Science, technology and innovation for development (E/RES/2018/29)

The resolution builds on previous resolutions on science, technology, and innovation for development. It recognizes the critical role of science, technology and innovation for the global economy and SDGs, and notes the importance of covering all three aspects of sustainable development: Social, economic and environmental. The resolution further discusses new ideas for financing and promotion of science, technology and innovation, and calls for increased funding and effort to achieve uptake. Lastly, the resolution presents recommendations for UN member states and governments, and the Commission on Science and Technology for Development and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
