Overarching Information Communications Technology (ICT) Policy for the Republic of Namibia 2009

Regulations and Policies

The Namibian Government, recognising the pivotal role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in driving economic productivity, aligns its policies with Vision 2030, aiming to transform Namibia into a knowledge-based economy. While the country has made progress in the global ICT landscape, there’s a commitment to further growth, emphasising the development of a national ICT Policy. This policy, in conjunction with existing frameworks like the Telecommunications, Broadcasting, Information Technology (IT), and Postal policies, sets out to consolidate guidelines for the convergence of sectors and solidify Namibia’s position in ICT dissemination. ICT, encompassing diverse communication technologies and services, is considered a national imperative, with postal services playing a crucial role in communication and commerce within the broader ICT sector.
