Morocco’s strategy in cybersecurity focuses on countering cyber threats and ensuring a secure digital environment. The government has emphasised the importance of ‘security by design’ and has been involved in developing a roadmap for national cybersecurity strategy implementation. This comprehensive approach encompasses various activities, including raising awareness regarding best practices, implementing security measures for information systems, conducting awareness programs, and hosting training workshops to combat cybercrime. Additionally, the strategy seeks to bolster both national and international cooperation, essential for establishing a robust cybersecurity stance.

Morocco’s national cybersecurity strategy encompasses four key areas designed to improve the country’s cybersecurity and ensure the protection of vital information systems. Each area plays a crucial role in addressing specific challenges and establishing a comprehensive framework for cybersecurity:

  • AREA 2: Protect and defend the information systems of administrations, public organisations and infrastructures of vital importance
  • AREA 3: Strengthen the foundations of IT security
