Kenyan National Cybersecurity Strategy (2022-2027)

The Government of Kenya launched the National Cybersecurity Strategy (2022-2027) as a roadmap to address new challenges and emerging threats in the cyber domain. The strategy aligns with the Cybersecurity Master Plan for Africa (CMCA) 2018. The strategy aims to create a trusted information environment in Kenya. The strategy also highlights the importance of enhancing international cooperation on matters of cybersecurity at the regional and global levels.

The main pillars of the strategy include:

  1. Establishment of governance structures
  2. Strong policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks
  3. Protection of critical information infrastructure
  4. Cultivating a skilled cybersecurity workforce and developing more advanced capabilities
  5. Minimising crimes and incidents
  6. Fostering cooperation and collaboration
