Guinea’s Digital Road Map

Strategies and Action Plans

Guinea’s ‘Digital Road Map’ is designed to guide the country’s digital transformation in alignment with its broader national development goals.

The roadmap envisions Guinea becoming a leading digital economy in West Africa by 2025, with a focus on education, infrastructure expansion, and the secure use of data.

This strategy draws from regional and international frameworks, such as the Arab Digital Economy Strategy, and aims to position Guinea to benefit from the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Key pillars

  1. Knowledge-based society: Fostering a tech-savvy population by improving digital education, promoting STEM (especially among women), and supporting digital entrepreneurship.
  2. Job creation & entrepreneurship: Building a sustainable environment for job creation through digital means, including business incubators and tech parks, with a focus on agriculture, mining, and urbanisation.
  3. Digital tools for urbanisation: Addressing urban challenges like overcrowding and infrastructure using data analytics, AI, and smart technologies to manage cities more efficiently.
  4. Mining & agriculture: Introducing technology to these key sectors to improve efficiency, increase yields, and reduce corruption using tools like AI, IoT sensors, and blockchain.
  5. Open & transparent government: Leveraging digital tools to promote transparency, open data, and citizen engagement via social media and a national government portal.
  6. Infrastructure development: Expanding digital and energy infrastructure, including hydroelectric dams and solar energy projects, to support a growing digital economy.
