The G20 Digital Economy Ministerial Declaration of 2018 builds on previous Ministerial Declarations, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and specifically emphasizes the strengthening of a digital agenda for sustainable development. They seek to ‘maximize benefits and address the challenges of the digital economy’. The document favours ICT but recognizes the need to modernize and digitize national governments, and highlights topics of the digital divide, digital economy, digital infrastructure for development, emerging digital technologies, entrepreneurs & MSMEs in a digital context, consumer protection and the future of work.
