Declaration by the Committee of Ministers on Internet Governance Principles

Declaration by the Committee of Ministers on Internet governance principles was adopted by the CoE Committee of Ministers in 2011. The Internet is considered as an aggregate of a vast range of ideas, technologies, resources and policies developed on the assertion of freedom and through collective endeavours in the common interest. States, the private sector, civil society and individuals have all contributed to build the dynamic, inclusive and successful Internet that we know today. Internet governance arrangements must therefore ensure the protection of all important principles included in this document.
