The Bangladesh Cyber Security Strategy 2021–2025 is a comprehensive national framework designed to strengthen the country’s resilience against the rising tide of cyber threats. It was developed in recognition of the critical role digital infrastructure plays in the country’s development and security. As Bangladesh continues to embrace digital transformation, the need for a secure cyberspace has become vital for ensuring trust in digital services, safeguarding critical information, and promoting sustainable socioeconomic growth.
The strategy outlines a multi-faceted approach involving both government and private sector stakeholders, emphasising the importance of a collaborative effort to secure cyberspace. It aligns with the broader goals of the country’s Digital Bangladesh vision and ensures that national progress is not compromised by vulnerabilities in the cyber domain.
Its scope covers the entire spectrum of cybersecurity concerns, including protecting national infrastructure, strengthening governance, enhancing capacity, promoting international cooperation, and encouraging research and innovation. Through this strategy, Bangladesh aims to establish a safe and trusted cyberspace that supports innovation, economic prosperity, and national security.
National cybersecurity vision
The vision of this strategy is to establish a resilient and secure digital ecosystem in Bangladesh that fosters trust, innovation, and growth, while protecting national interests and citizen rights in cyberspace.
Mission
The mission is to provide a secure and trusted digital environment through effective policies, capacity building, public-private partnerships, legal frameworks, and international cooperation, ensuring the safety of critical infrastructure and personal data.
Strategic objectives
The strategy is structured around key strategic objectives that collectively address the core cybersecurity challenges facing the country. These objectives serve as guiding principles for action across all sectors:
