5G for Poland Strategy
April 2018
The 5G strategy in Poland is a top priority for the government, focusing on the rollout of fifth-generation wireless communication networks to substantially enhance the nation’s economy. Poland’s 5G strategy has been established with a focus on developing standards for testing 5G services and applications to improve their quality.
By 2025, the strategy aims to ensure that every citizen has access to the internet at speeds of at least 100 Mb/s. Moreover, crucial locations such as schools, universities, transportation hubs, and businesses will benefit from even faster connections, with minimum speeds of 1 Gb/s to support both social and economic growth. The deployment of 5G networks will extend across major highways, railway lines, and principal cities, leveraging key frequency bands including 3.4-3.8 GHz, 26 GHz, and 700 MHz. Additionally, Poland is committed to adhering to EU 5G security guidelines, which involve enforcing stricter security measures for the core components of the 5G infrastructure.
