Combating the criminal misuse of information technologies (A/RES/55/63)

Resolutions and Declarations

In this resolution, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) notes the value of certain measures to combat criminal misuse of information technologies. These include, among others, adoption of laws and practices that eliminate safe havens for those who criminally misuse information technologies; law enforcement cooperation, information exchange, and mutual legal assistance in the investigation and prosecution of international cases of criminal misuse of information; raising public awareness of the need to prevent and combat the criminal misuse of information technologies; development of solutions which protect individual freedoms and privacy and preserve the capacity of governments to fight such criminal misuse.
