Isabella Bassani
Ms Isabella Bassani is a Law and Technology researcher at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, currently focusing on illegal digital transactions, artist remuneration on online platforms, and social protection and data justice. Her previous roles include assisting the Brazilian Mission to the WTO in e-commerce negotiations and advising the UK’s Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation on ethical implications of data-driven technologies for net-zero targets. She is a Swiss/Brazilian lawyer with a master’s in public administration in Digital Technologies and Policy from UCL in London. Isabella joined the Geneva Internet Platform’s Digital Watch Observatory in 2022 as a Digital Watch Knowledge Fellow, where she provides reporting and analysis on various development and sociocultural topics, including digital access, e-waste, sustainable development, content policy, and digital identities.
