The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is inviting public comment on the first version of ‘Ethically Aligned Design: A Vision for Prioritizing Human Wellbeing with Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems

Elaborated in the framework of the IEEE Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, the document aimed to encourage technologists to prioritise ethical considerations in the creation of autonomous and intelligent technologies. It is structured in eight sections, each addressing a specific topic related to artificial intelligence and autonomous systems: general principes; embedding values into autonomous intelligence systems; methodologies to guide ethical reserach and design; safety and beneficence on artificial general intelligence and artificial superintelligence; personal data and individual access control; reframing autonomous weapons systems; economics/humanitarian issues; and law.
