TechTalks: The Politics of Cybersecurity

The Bordeaux Institute of International Cybersecurity Studies (BIICS) will be hosting their first annual conference on 12-13 September 2019 at Sciences Po Bordeaux.

The conference is free and open to all, and will bring together cybersecurity experts from a wide range of professions, including lawyers, academics, engineers, politicians, and philosophers, to discuss the issues at stake around cybersecurity. Our vision is to provide a platform for both experts and novices to learn about the different streams of tech policy, and the importance of keeping up to date with the political world of cybersecurity.

Topics which will be discussed include:

  • Internet governance

  • Cybersecurity in the workplace

  • Digital inclusion

  • Innovation & technology beyond the Internet

  • Cybersecurity and geopolitics

  • Privacy in a connected world

The event will comprise a number of experts, including representatives from: Google, CNIL, Cardiff University, Qwant, NATO, the UK Ministry of Defence, ICANN, the Internet Society, McAfee, Taskuba University, l’ANSSI, the Oxford Internet Institute, and CNRS amongst many others.
