Role of Information and Communication Technologies in the Development of Inclusive Society

An international conference ‘The Role of Information and Communication Technologies in the Development of Inclusive Society’ will be held on 8-9 October 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia.

This event will be co-organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and NGO Proforma under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia.

The main objective of the conference is to explore the role of ICT in creating a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities through adoption of ICT accessibility policies and the application of universal design principles in the development of ICT products and services to ensure widespread use and availability of accessible ICT services by persons with disabilities.

The conference will provide a platform for open dialogue, cooperation and partnership in the field of accessible ICT for persons with disabilities among  national, regional and international agencies and organizations, industry, organizations of persons with disabilities and academia, addressing specific regional challenges and opportunities.
