ITU-ENISA Regional Cybersecurity Forum

The ITU-ENISA Regional Cybersecurity Forum will be held on 29-30 November 2016, in Sofia, Bulgaria. 

The forum is organised jointly by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The aim of the event is to enhance the communication and incident response capabilities of the participating teams, and to ensure a continued collective effort in mitigating cyber threats among the region's national Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs). The forum will provide a platform for strengthening regional cooperation, information sharing, and discussion on cybersecurity with particular focus on National Cybersecurity Strategies and National CSIRT/CIRT/CERT in terms of development approaches, good practices, challenges and opportunities. National policy and decision makers, legislators, regulators, service providers, academia, civil society and other cybersecurity professionals, from 43 European countries, will participate in the sessions, promoting constructive dialogue between international and regional organizations, governments, ICT security players and consumers.

The first day and a half is dedicated to a series of workshops on current cybersecurity issues, followed by a day and a half of cyber drill exercises structured around various scenarios involving the most common types of cyberattacks while the sharing sessions provides a platform for cooperation and discussions on cybersecurity.
