ITU CWG-Internet – 6th Physical Open Consultation Meeting

22 Jan 2018

Geneva, Switzerland

The 6th Physical Open Consultation Meeting of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council Working Group on International Internet-related Public Policy Issues (CWG-Internet) will be held on 22 January 2018, at the ITU Headquarters, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The meeting, open to all interested stakeholders, will be dedicated to discussions and sharing of experiences and best practices on the topic of ‘Bridging the gender digital divide’. The topic also constitutes the subject of an online consultation launched by the working group in October 2017.

The CWG-Internet was established by the ITU Council Resolution 1336, with the aim to identify, study, and develop matters related to international Internet-related public policy issues. The Group is limited to member states, with open consultations to all stakeholders. Following the instruction of the Plenipotentiary Conference 2014, the ITU Council revised its Resolution 1344 (Mod. 2015) resolving that the CWG-Internet should hold both open online consultation and physical open consultation meetings, with remote participation, within a defined period prior to each CWG-Internet meeting.
