Internet Governance Forum Germany

Berlin, Germany

The annual meeting of the German Internet Governance Forum (German IGF) will be held on 9 September 2016, at the Red Town Hall, in Berlin.

The full-day meeting will feature discussions on: ethics of standards and protocols, the IANA stewardship transition, controlling the export of surveillance technologies, and encryption policy in Germany. It will be preceded by a German Youth IGF, to be held on 8 September 2016.

The German IGF is an open, multisrakeholder discussion platform focused on issues addressing the development of Internet for government, private sector, and civil society, as well as the technical community, academia, and youth. The purpose of the initiative is to foster dialogue on concrete questions about the development of the Internet between the stakeholders and unlock new potentials for Germany, and to prepare and strengthen the contributions of the German stakeholders at the European and UN Internet governance fora.
