Internet Governance Forum Afghanistan 2017

The first annual meeting of the Internet Governance Forum Afghanistan (IGFA) will take place on 28-30 March 2017, in Kabul. 

The event will bring together Internet governance stakeholders from government, civil society, private sector, technical community, and media, with the aim to discuss challenges and issue and to develop common agenda for the Afghan Internet. The main topics to be covered during IGFA 2017 are access and diversity (with focus on the role of the Internet in achieving sustainable economic and social development in Afghanistan), cybersecurity (Internet security, online safety, and collaboration among stakeholders), youth and gender (how they are affected by the Internet and how they contribute to the development of the Internet), and emerging issues (Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems, cloud computing, big data, etc.). There will also be debates on  the crucial role the Internet must play in the successful implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Hundreds of participants from all walks of lives, including user groups and policy experts, are expected to participate both in person and online.
