Global Commission on the Future of Work: Second Meeting

15 Feb 2018 - 17 Feb 2018

Geneva, Switzerland

The second meeting of the Global Commission on the Future of Work will be held on 15–17 February 2018 at the International Labour Organization (ILO) Headquarters in Genera, Switzerland.

The Global Commission was formed as part of ILO’s ‘Future of Work’ initiative focused on identifying ways in which the organisation can respond to challenges posed by the changes in the world of work. The commission is tasked with developing a report on how to achieve a future of work that provides decent and sustainable opportunities for all. The report is to be submitted to the centenary session of the ILO in 2019.

The commission’s work is organised around four ‘centenary conversations’: work and society, decent jobs for all, organisation of work and production, governance of work.

At the February meeting, discussions will revolve around several main themes: the role of work for individuals and society, bringing an end to women’s pervasive global inequality in the world of work, technology for social, environmental and economic development, managing change during every phase of transformation and education, new approaches to growth and development, the future governance of work.
