GIPO Webinar: Interactive visualisations

Online

As part of the Global Internet Policy Observatory (GIPO) webinar series, GIPO will present a webinar 'Interactive visualisations for making Internet Governance topics more engaging and explorable' on 26 October.

The GIPO initiative is organising webinars on the issues connected to development of the GIPO platform on an ongoing basis.

About the webinar

The GIPO Tool will primarily gather categorical data that can be sorted into groups. To communicate effectively using graphs we must understand the nature of the data.

  • What are the best graphs to visualise categorical data?

  • How to best visualize many categorical variables and their interrelation?

  • Are zoomable treemaps among the best suitable options to visualize a taxonomic classification?

During this webinar presenters will discuss possible approaches to data visualisation with Gabriele Venier from Visup.it, an interactive data visualisation factory.

GIPO invites other mapping communities and observatories to present their activities and possible areas of synergies with the GIPO platform. In this context, Mapping Internet Governance NetgovMAP will present its visualisation effort at mapping processes that shape the evolution of the Internet.

We invite policy makers, internet governance community and other mapping initiatives, technical experts working in the internet governance field as well as visualisation experts.
