ECOSOC 2015 Annual Ministerial Review (AMR)

9 Jul 2015 - 10 Jul 2015

The 2015 Annual Ministerial Review (AMR) will be convened as part of the ECOSOC High-level Segment in July 2015, at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The 2015 Economic and Social Council substantive session will take place during a time of intensifying discussions on the post-2015 development agenda. This period will include the issuance, before the end of 2014, of the synthesis report of the Secretary-General and the subsequent start of the negotiations in 2015, culminating in the adoption of the new agenda during a summit at the level of heads of state and government in September 2015.

The theme of the 2015 AMR is “Managing the transition from the Millennium Development Goals to the sustainable development goals (SDGs): What will it take”. The advance, unedited report of the Secretary-General on the theme is available here

The discussions for the 2015 AMR will be further informed by the Report of the Secretary-General on the thematic discussion, "Strengthening and building institutions for policy integration in the post-2015 era”. An advance, unedited version of the report is available here

The 2015 AMR will take place in the overall substantive context of the final push to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, the continued follow-up to Rio+20 and the discussions and process for elaborating the post-2015 development agenda.

The 2015 AMR will see National Voluntary Presentations (NVPs) from Member States who volunteer during the current session.

The 2015 AMR will be held in conjunction with the third meeting of the High Level Political Forum (HLPF), also to be convened next year, under the auspices of ECOSOC.
