Briefing for Heads of Missions: Digital Policy in South Eastern Europe

Geneva, Switzerland

On 21 February 2017, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Macedonia to the United Nations in Geneva and the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP) will hold a briefing for Heads of Missions in Geneva, on ‘Digital policy in South Eastern Europe’. The event will take place between 12.30 and 14.00 at the Geneva Internet Platform (WMO building, 7bis Avenue de la Paix, 1202).

We are at the beginning of a new year, during which the digital policy agenda is likely to get even higher prominence in areas such as trade, human rights, and telecommunications discussions. These and other digital policy issues will be discussed in the framework of international organisations hosted in Geneva, as well as in the context of preparations for the South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG), to be held in Ohrid, Macedonia (24-25 May 2017).

The aim of the briefing is to assist missions from South Eastern Europe in preparing for these upcoming policy discussions. There will also be discusions on the links between digital policy in Geneva and regional/national developments in South Eastern Europe.

To register for the event and for further information, Permanent Missions can contact Dr Roxana Radu at roxanar@diplomacy.edu and Ms Elena Zdravkovska at elena.zdravkovska@mfa.gov.mk .
