Cyber Stability Conference 2026
The Cyber Stability Conference 2026 will take place on 4–5 May 2026 in Geneva and online, organised by the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) as part of Geneva Cyber Week.
The conference is a flagship annual event of UNIDIR’s Security and Technology Programme, bringing together representatives from governments, international organisations, industry, academia, and civil society to discuss developments in information and communications technology (ICT) security and their implications for international peace and security.
The 2026 edition will focus on the theme “Cyber governance in an era of technological revolution: Past lessons, present realities and future frontiers.” Discussions will examine how cyber governance frameworks can adapt to rapid technological change, including emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing, while ensuring alignment between technological development and international security objectives.
The conference will provide a platform to reflect on lessons learned from past cyber diplomacy processes, assess current challenges in the ICT security landscape, and explore potential future trajectories for global cyber governance. It will also consider the evolution of multilateral efforts on responsible state behaviour in cyberspace and broader approaches to strengthening cyber stability and resilience.
