Navigating health misinformation in the age of AI
The Inter-Parliamentary Union will hold a webinar to examine how misinformation and AI intersect to shape access to essential health services, particularly for women, children and adolescents.
The session will bring together parliamentarians, experts and civil society organisations to explore how trust, empathy and culturally resonant communication can complement factual accuracy in countering misinformation. Participants will discuss how AI can be used responsibly to promote the right to health and access to verified information, and how collaboration between policymakers and communities can strengthen resilience against harmful narratives.
The 60-minute webinar is open to parliamentarians, parliamentary staff and members of the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH). Interpretation will be provided in French, Spanish and Arabic. The programme includes an expert presentation on the impact of misinformation, a discussion of AI-related challenges for health access, and an interactive exchange with participants.
